Being raised in the United States by my Ecuadorian parents gave me an interesting experience of feeling like my identity was split between two countries, two languages, and two cultures. In many ways, this is a beautiful thing and helps me understand and learn various aspects of life. However, at times it can feel ostracizing and lonely. The mountains give me the feeling of being welcome, capable of reaching any potential, and the challenge of pushing through even the hardest physical obstacles. I love the idea of assisting others, especially those who might otherwise not feel a sense of community and acceptance in regular society. I love to be part of helping them find their place and joy and their truth while exploring within the mountains.
